Folders Overview

Folders organize your targets, evaluations, and scans, and control who can see and change them. Every target and evaluation lives in at most one folder; scans belong to the folder of their parent target or evaluation. Folder content is visible only to the folder’s members — see Roles & Access for the exact permissions.

Built-in folders

Every account starts with two folders that behave differently from the ones you create:

  1. Your personal folder. Private to you. It cannot be shared, renamed, or deleted, and content in it is visible to you only. If you use AI Red Teaming without an organization, all of your content lives here.
  2. The organization folder, shown as Everyone at {your organization}. Every member of your organization belongs to it automatically, so it is the natural home for shared work. It cannot be renamed or deleted.

Create a folder

Any organization member can create folders. The creator becomes the folder’s admin.

1

Open the folder list

On the Targets, Evaluations, or Scans page, open the folder dropdown in the toolbar. Alternatively, go to SettingsManage folders.

2

Create

Select New folder and enter a name.
3

Add members

Open the folder’s settings (gear icon in the folder dropdown, or the Members tab under Manage folders) to invite organization members and assign their roles. The gear icon opens a quick settings dialog for the folder’s members and API keys; the gear in the dialog’s header takes you to the full Manage folders page.

Filter by folder

The folder dropdown on the Targets, Evaluations, and Scans pages scopes the list to one folder. Show all lists content from every folder you belong to — not the whole organization.

Choose a destination when creating content

The create forms for targets and evaluations include a Folder field that determines where the new item lands. It defaults to the folder you are currently filtering by. The choices are the organization folders where you can add content, plus your personal folder: content placed there is a private draft, visible to you only, until you move it to a shared folder. Outside an organization there is only your personal folder, so the field is hidden and content is placed automatically.

Move content between folders

You can move a target or evaluation from its row menu (⋮ → Move to folder) or from its detail page. A move needs write access on both ends: you must be allowed to move the item out of its current folder and to add content to the destination. Your personal folder is always a valid destination for your own moves. Scans move with their parent target or evaluation.

API keys

API keys are scoped to a folder: a key can only access targets, scans, and evaluations in the folder it belongs to. You pick the folder when creating a key under SettingsAPI Keys. Deleting a folder revokes its keys.

Delete a folder

Only a folder admin can delete it, from the folder’s General tab under SettingsManage folders — renaming lives there too. Because every target and evaluation lives in a folder, deleting one asks what happens to its contents:

  1. Move contents to another folder. Pick any organization folder you can add content to; the folder’s targets and evaluations move there, and scans follow their parent. Personal folders are not offered — a deleted folder can contain other members’ work, which must stay visible to the organization.
  2. Delete all contents. The folder’s targets, evaluations, and their scans are deleted; running scans are cancelled.

Either way, the folder’s API keys are revoked.
